- Description
Part-time instructional service is paid on the basis of $800 per semester credit hour, as per the Santa Fe College Salary Schedule.
Under general supervision, the Adjunct Assistant Professor, Accounting will develop, prepare and teach a variety of coursework including Accounting Principles 1 and II, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Accounting Software, Intermediate Accounting I and II, Intermediate Managerial Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Governmental Accounting, Auditing, Advanced Spreadsheet, and Taxation.
Adjunct Faculty are employed on a term-by-term basis. This position is fully remote. Finalists that live outside of Florida will be onboarded through our temp agency partner.
- Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, organize, and deliver accounting instruction in didactic settings to promote student success within a community college setting.
Support and promote the college and departmental missions centered on excellence in teaching and learning through quality instruction, curriculum enhancement, and service.
Collaborate with department chair, faculty, and peers to evaluate, revise, and develop curriculum to cultivate the mastery of course content.
Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies and procedures.
Provide students with frequent, timely assessment of and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
Appropriately document student progress and maintain records including attendance, grading and student learning outcomes.
Develop methods that fairly and accurately assess students’ progress in achieving the stated learning outcomes/objectives.
Maintain appropriate office hours proportionate to the instructional assignment.
Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Chair, Business Programs
- Qualifications
Required: To teach college level accounting, a minimum of a Master’s of Science in Accounting with a specialization in Taxation, Governmental Accounting, Audit, Finance, or other field and a Certified Public Accounting (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation qualifies a professor to teach lower and upper division accounting courses - or a Master’s with eighteen (18) graduate course hours in the qualifying field of Accounting is required. A criminal background check will be conducted.
Preferred: Candidates with teaching experience and the ability to incorporate appropriate instructional technology into coursework are preferred.
